Corn Free Baking Powder

Living with corn allergies can be difficult because corn products are in almost everything! From powdered sugar, to baking powder, to any processed product...it is a hard allergen to avoid. At first, there were many places where I was missing the hidden corn...it took awhile to find it all. Here is a handy recipe for baking powder that is free from corn. It is not a common allergy, but there are those out there who struggle with it, so I hope this will help someone out!

Corn Free Baking Powder

1 part baking soda
2 parts cream of tartar
2 parts arrowroot starch

Combine all ingredients and store in a glass jar. Use as a replacement for baking powder.

*Baby Step side note: If using "regular" baking powder be sure to check for two things: one, that it does not contain aluminum (Rumford and Bob's Red Mill are both aluminum-free brands) and two, that it does not contain GMO corn.
