These crackers are really yummy! They have a nice crunch and delicious flavor. The best part is that they are full of health benefits, including enzymes, live nutrition, and omega 3 fats. They are really simple to make but take awhile since they are dehydrated. They made a delicious sandwich with swiss cheese and uncured salami. You can, of course, make prettier shaped crackers than I did. I simple broke them into pieces but if you want to score them into squares or triangles, feel free. Enjoy!
Raw Omega 3 Crackers
*This recipe makes a lot of crackers. It fills up seven of my dehydrator trays. These crackers will store for 3 months unrefrigerated or 6 months refrigerated or frozen.
1 cup black chia seeds
2 cups golden flax seeds
2 cups brown flax seeds
3 cups hemp seeds
15 cups filtered water
2 1/2 teaspoons real salt
2 teaspoons rosemary
2 teaspoons organic gluten free tamari
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
Combine all of the seeds and the water in a very large pot. Stir to mix well and let sit for one hour. Stir again and continue to soak for another 3-8 hours. After soaking, mix in the salt, rosemary, tamari, and garlic powder. Stir very well to combine. Spread 2 1/2 to 3 cups of batter onto teflex dehydrator trays. Dehydrate for 2 hours at 140 degrees. Turn the temperature down to 105 degrees and dehydrate another 6 to 8 hours or until the crackers peel easily from the teflex sheet. Flip the crackers over onto the dehydrator trays without the teflex and continue dehydrating until the crackers are crisp and crunchy. This will be about 24 to 36 hours altogether. Store in an airtight glass container after the crackers have cooled.
