I found this recipe for an herbal tea that is fabulous for boosting the immune system. I wanted to post it so I could remember to use it! We use all kinds of herbal remedies in our house but I haven't yet ventured into making many of them myself. That is my next step! I'd love to take classes and become an herbalist someday.
According to the person I heard this recipe from, if you begin to drink this tea soon enough, you can knock out a cold before it worsens. If your symptoms are more severe when beginning to drink the tea, the duration of the illness should shorten and the severity of the symptoms should lessen.
When drinking tea for medicinal purposes, you want to consume three cups a day, and then continue for a day or two after you feel well.

Immune Boosting Herbal Tea
1 cup Yarrow
1 cup Elder Flower
2 cups Peppermint
Mix dried herbs together and store. To make, combine a quart of boiling water and 1/2 cup of the mix. Let steep for 10+ minutes, then add a small amount of honey and sip away!
