Juicing With Kids

One of my favorite ways to get healthy food into my kiddos is to juice! We don't do this every day or even every week, by any means, but it is something we strive to do as often as we can! Some weeks are better than others. I wrote a post a long time ago about juicing with some of our favorite combinations. Here is another one of our favorites!

Rainbow Veggie Juice

1 bunch of kale
1 green apple
5-6 carrots
1 lemon
2 clementine oranges (these are tiny)
1/2 of a medium beet
1 cucumber
Large slice of purple cabbage
1 inch of ginger, peeled
Handful of cilantro

Strive to have MORE veggies than fruit - since that is where the goodness lies! When choosing a fruit, green apples are great because they are very low in sugar. My goal for our juices is to have them be very low sugar, but still taste good. Another yummy thing to add (sometimes I do it for my kids too) is a little pinch of real salt and cayenne pepper. I do not like spicy things but for whatever reason cayenne really tastes great in juice! It is also very good for the body.

This is the juicer I have - I have been through several and this one works well! It is very affordable and I've been impressed with its ability to juice greens.
